اس کے لہجے کے بدلنے کی کہانی کو سمجھ کر

اب بھی اے دل اسے چاہو تو تمہاری مرضی

کسی باپ کی شہزادی کو اجاڑ کر

وہ اپنی ماں کا فرمانبردار بیٹا بن گیا

پتا ہے اس کا آخری جملہ کیا تھا؟

مجھ سے پوچھ کر کی تھی محبت

‏منایا نہیں گیا مجھ سے اس بار

اس کی ناراضگی میں آباد کوئی اور تھا

کوئی نہ تھا دل میں اس کے سوا

پھر بھی توڑ کر دیکھا اس نے

جب دل میں چاہت نہ رہے تو

باتیں خود بخود کڑوی لگنے لگتی ہیں

اتنا احسان میری جان گوارا کر لے

اب کنارے پہ لگا دے یا کنارہ کر لے

شکوے شکایتوں کی نہیں یہ ظرف ظرف کی بات ہے

تیرے وہم و گماں میں بھی ہم نہیں اور تو لفظ لفظ مجھے یاد ہے

اللہ نوازے تجھے مجھ سے بہتر

پھر بھی تو میرے لیے ترسے

تم نے کیا چھوڑنا تھا مجھے

تمھاری اوقات ہی نہیں تھی مجھے پانے کی

اس تیسرے شخص کے مقدر کو سلام میرا

جس نے اتنی آسانی سے پالیا جہان میرا

زندگی بھر کے امتحان کے بعد

وہ نتیجے میں کسی اور کا نکلا

اس کی بے وفائی کے بعد بھی اسے چاہا

یہ اعتراف بھی شامل ہے میرے گناہوں میں

اس کی محبت کا سلسلہ بھی کیا عجیب تھا

اپنا بھی نہ بنایا اور کسی کا ہونے بھی نہ دیا

مجھے بھی محبت ہوئی تھی کسی سے

لیکن میری محبت کو محبت ہوگئی کسی سے

اس سے جا کر کہنا کے بے وفا نہیں ہوں میں

ہیں نہ مجھ میں غلط فہمیاں

تجھے جب بھی سمجھا اپنا سمجھا

شکوے آنکھوں سے گر پڑے ورنہ

میں نے خفا ہو کر مشکلیں آسان کر دیں

جو تجھے میرے حصار سے چرا لے گیا

لے جاؤ اپنے جھوٹے وعدے

اگلے عشق میں تمہیں ضرورت پڑے گی

تیری وفا کے تقاضے بدل گئے ورنہ

ہمیں تو آج بھی تم سے عزیز کوئی نہیں

دنیا میں سستا ترین کھلونا دل ہے

جس سے لوگ کھیل کر توڑ دیتے ہیں

وہ بلکل زندگی کے جیسا تھا

خوبصورت بھی اور بے اعتبار بھی

چھوڑ دیا ہم نے مرضی کے لوگوں

کو ان کی مرضی پر

قریب سے اجنبی بن کر گزرا ہے وہ شخص

جو دور سے پہچان لیا کرتا تھا

ہائے تیرا مجھ سے جھوٹی محبت کا دکھاوا

اور میرا اس جھوٹ پے بھی قربان ہو جانا

وفا کا نام مت لو کہ وفا اب دل دکھاتی ہے

وفا کا نام لینے سے اک بے وفا کی یاد آتی ہے

کیا قصور تھا اس دل کا جو دکھایا تم نے

کیا ہم غریب تھے اسی لئے ستایا تم نے

چراغ محفل بن چراغ راہ نہ بن

نصیحتیں نہ کرو عشق کرنے والوں سے

یہ آگ اور بھڑک جائے گی بجھانے سے

تجھے خوابوں میں دیکھنے والے

کتنی مشکل سے جاگتے ہوں گے

کوئی تو دلا دے قید عشق سے رہائی

وعدہ رہا پھر نہیں کروں گا دعوی محبت کا

کاش اس وقت تجھے مانگا ہوتا میں نے

جب ایک بار رونے سے سب کچھ مل جاتا تھا

کہاں ڈھونڈتے ہو تم عشق کو اے بے خبر

یہ خود ہی ڈھونڈ لیتا ہے جسے برباد کرنا ہو

اپنی محبت کو اپنا محرم بنانا

ہم اس موڑ پہ آپہنچے ہیں محبت میں
